Raj (Akshay Kumar) is in love with his childhood buddy Kajal (Lara Dutta), but a young pilot named Karan (Aman Verma) captures her heart. Raj accepts their marriage with a heavy heart but is unable to forget Kajal. Succumbing to his family’s emotional pressure, he agrees to marry an uptown lass named Jiya (Priyanka Chopra). But he soon learns that Jiya is Kajal's sister-in-law, Karan is dead and Kajal is in a miserable state. Will Raj help Kajal sail through the tough times, even if it means risking his own marriage?
